Baptism & Confirmation

Baptism

A baptism is an “outward sign” of the “inner grace” of having been chosen by God and “marked as Christ’s own forever.” Episcopalians acknowledge that baptism in any Christian church is valid. And we have no restrictions on who can be baptized.

To be baptized as an adult or to be the godparent of a child who will be baptized requires a class that is taught over several weeks. The baptism is celebrated during one of our primary worship services so we can all join in celebration and support. Schedule a time to talk about baptism with Pastor Felicia (rector@stpauls-fc.org or, through the church office, 970-482-2668.

Confirmation

Confirmation is the ritual through which a person baptized, possibly as a small child, expresses a mature commitment to Christ, receiving strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. Classes are required so that the confirmand is sufficiently instructed in the Christian Faith and ready to affirm their confession of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. If you are interested, please schedule a time to talk with Pastor Felicia. (rector@stpauls-fc.org)
