Colorado Haiti Project
The Episcopal Church in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western hemisphere, is an outgrowth of U.S. mission work and still a diocese of our Church. As part of a national program various stateside dioceses are in partnership with a Haitian parish and jointly work to strengthen and expand the ministry of that parish. Our Colorado Diocese is in partnership with St. Paul Parish in the community of Petit Trou de Nippes, situated about 80 miles West of Port au Prince, Haiti's capitol. Participating congregations in our Diocese are asked to adopt a child's annual school tuition ($300) in the parish school. In addition, special projects arise and congregations are asked to participate as they are able. The devastating earthquake of January 2010 has created a crisis in Haiti of unimaginable proportion which places a heavy burden upon our Church as well as the entire world. We pray for God's guidance and strength.
